Care Points ("we," "us") helps trusted communities trade babysitting time with points instead of cash. This policy explains what we collect during our closed beta and how we use it. We're a small team — if anything here is unclear, email support@carepointsmanage.com and we'll help directly.
What we collect
- Beta signup: first name, email address, and the approximate size of your circle, when you request a beta invite.
- Account & co-op info: once invited, your profile details, the co-ops you join or create, and your relationship to other members (via invite codes and admin approval).
- Activity data: requests you post or offer to sit for, points balances and transaction history, star ratings and written reviews, and messages exchanged with members you're matched with.
- Basic technical data: standard device and usage information collected automatically by our hosting and analytics providers.
How we use it
- To run the beta: send invites, confirm your signup, and get your co-op set up.
- To operate the core app: match sitters with requests, track your points balance, and show ratings within your co-op.
- To communicate with you about your account, beta updates, or support requests.
- To improve Care Points based on how the beta is actually used.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
Who can see it
Within your co-op, other members can see your name, rating, and review history, and can message you once you're matched on a request — this is core to how Care Points works. Outside your co-op, your information stays private to Care Points and the service providers below.
Service providers
We use Supabase to store account and app data, Netlify to host this site and run our signup process, and an email provider to send beta invites and account emails over SMTP. These providers process data on our behalf and don't use it for their own purposes.
Data retention & your choices
We keep beta signup and account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to run the beta. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information at any time by emailing support@carepointsmanage.com.
Children's privacy
Care Points accounts are for adults coordinating childcare within their community — the app is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Information about children (like a first name or age on a sitting request) is entered by the adult member and shared only with the co-op members they've chosen to trust. If you believe a child's information was submitted improperly, contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access-controlled infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password once accounts are available.
Changes to this policy
As Care Points moves from closed beta toward public launch, this policy will evolve. We'll update the effective date above when it does, and let beta members know of material changes by email.
